About Me

I’m Sharon Clemons, a writer who’s spent a lifetime crafting words and stories. I have had the privilege of writing humor in the pages of The Day and The Mystic River Press. I was gifted a used Royal typewriter by my dad when I was in my early teens. It had one key that was stuck and it was wonderful.

I was born premature at just over 3 pounds, or the size of an average meatloaf. I have always believed in the power of resilience. Life, as it turns out, is full of unexpected twists, and I have been fortunate to experience many of them — each one helping shape the writer I am today.

I had a poem published after the riots in Detroit, Harlem, and Watts.  It is in a collection of poetry selected by George Mendoza called The World From My Window.I wrote and illustrated two children’s books.

I became a Kindergarten teacher, and I have a Master’s degree in early childhood education. I met and married a fellow teacher in the school district, Chuck Muncatchy. He had multi-decade career as a school superintendent across three states.

He has been my steadfast partner in all things. Together, we have raised four wonderful children and built a life full of love and adventure. Now, we live in Michigan, where our days are shared with our spunky root beer barrel of a Calico cat, Penelope.

I write because it connects me to the world and to others, and I’m grateful to share this journey with those who read my work. Whether you’re here for my stories or simply to learn more about my life, I hope you’ll find something that resonates with you.

Thank you for visiting,
